I love it when I discover something new. I have known the song Thunder Road for what seems to be forever and consider it to be one of the great love songs. Then I found this version of the Boss and Melissa Etheridge (someone of who I know absolutely nothing) and magic is created.

Awesome song...awesome version!
Melissa Etheridge has such a haunting, beautiful voice =) ~ look up her other work..I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
I'm always surprised when I find people *not* from the New York/New Jersey metro area that listen to Bruce Springsteen....
To me ~ his songs ~ especially from this time period (70's - early 80's) speak SO MUCH of the local happenings...it's like they are an athem of a time and a place.
Sometimes..you really can walk down Broadway and hear him singing...or spend the 4th of July on the Jersey shore....Bruce Springsteen is in the wind....
But then, I suppose it is *us* that claimed his songs as our own.
As his messages are surely timeless..and transcend mere geography.
xo
I guess the reason I am attracted to the songs of Springsteen is the same reason I like Meatloaf, they tell a story. They are just not songs but novels set to music if that makes sense.
